Soft Water Generation
Commonly, water softeners are used for boiler feed. Many types of equipment fail to work properly with high levels of calcium and magnesium. This can lead to increased energy costs and completed failure of equipment.
Reverse Osmosis
Reverse Osmosis (RO) removes contaminants from unfiltered water, or feed water, when pressure forces it through a semipermeable membrane. Water flows from the more concentrated side of the membrane to the less concentrated side to provide clean drinking water.
Water is softened during Reverse Osmosis but if contaminates are not filtered out this shortens the life of the membrane. RO systems have a long lifespan but the membrane and filters need changed regularly.
